”It’s probably nothing. It’s just a little neighborhood murder.”
A classic piece of American cinema that I think captures Hitchcock at his best. Suspenseful and witty, with great performances from Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart.
I think this should be required viewing for anyone interested in movies and also just for everyone else. Hitchcock was like Spielberg for the Boomer generation–his films shaped culture and cinematic tropes. And, they are actually pretty good. This one is a favorite of mine (I personally like Rope a bit better, but understand that Hitchcock preferred Rear Window as the execution of a “bottle movie,” so, it’s the one I’ll recommend).
